Where One Journey Ends, a New One Begins...

Today is our last day in Rochester. The moving truck pulled out yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa Higham flew out with the boys yesterday, and today I turned in our apartment keys. Tears fall freely the last few days, and I'm not even trying to stop them. I am so sad to leave behind this part of our lives; we have been blessed with so many wonderful experiences and friendships in the past six years. I knew two years ago this day would come and we would once again have to pick up and move; leaving behind so many friends- some of the closest we've ever made- but that never makes it any easier. It's been a great journey and we have all grown in ways we never imagined. I am thankful for the times we've had and lessons we've learned. Just as a part of us will always be in Seattle, now a part of us will always be in Rochester as well.
As soon as Jordan finishes work today (he graduated last Friday, but had to work yesterday and today- silly I know!) we too will head out to begin our new journey. We look forward to our new lives in South Eastern Idaho. Jordan and the boys are so very excited to live there and I'm working on it. I don't deny that it will be nice to live by family; I know that we are supposed to come home. Sometimes change comes hard for me though. I am excited for the road trip Jordan and I are about to take- across the nation with no children! It was a blast two years ago when we came out here, and I expect no less on the way back. We hope to arrive in Idaho early next week refreshed and ready to jump into the next journey. So here's an advance thanks to all our family who will be taking care of the boys for this next week- THANK YOU!

After I passed you outside the front office, I thought, "Hmm, they're moving soon... I'll bet Kara was taking care of move-out business at the office. I wonder how much longer they have here... I should've stopped to say goodbye." Funny, huh?

Best of luck in Idaho! Change can be hard sometimes, especially when it feels like everything is changing. But you'll get the hang of being in Idaho. Being near family is invaluable. Take care!

Rochester's loss is our gain. :) I can't imagine all that you guys have been through these past years. Such hard work. And what an accomplishment for your family.

We need to reconnect when you're back.
Enjoy your journey! Sounds absolutely amazing.

I enjoyed reading about your adventures there as well as Seattle. Much luck on your drive to Idaho. So, where will you end up in South Eastern Idaho? Back in Shelley? Just curious.

Change is never easy. It's hard to think of ever leaving the place I live now.... whenever that may be.

However, as selfish as this is, I'm sure glad you'll be closer so we can visit more. :)

Have a safe trip to Idaho, and if we ever make it out to Idaho I will make it a point to stop by for a visit.

Hey, I live in S.E. Idaho - never thought I would, but now it feels like home.

A week alone? How fun!

I can't believe you all are done with school! Congratulations!!!! I can remember being in a cabin and you all were talking about your school plans and it seemed like an eternity of school.
We are coming up to Idaho in like 3 weeks. We should hook up.

I'm sorry Rob called you jerks. He didn't mean it, he's just pouting. We will both miss you so much. I hope you're settling in, and feeling good. I'm sure it will take adjusting, but I know you will make it a great place to be for your family. Good luck! Miss you, miss you, miss you!

Aaaawwww! How sad! The road trip sounds excellent though. I am so jealous. Well, at least it will be easier to visit with you closer. However my husband has no desire to go to Idaho. I can't understand why....
